As the year comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on all that we have accomplished together in our first year and to express our heartfelt gratitude for your support.

CHANGING LIVES
This year has been a challenging one for all of us, but perhaps none more so than for the homeless families we serve. The pandemic has only exacerbated the struggles faced by those who are having difficulty making ends meet and find stable housing.
KEEPING FAMILIES TOGETHER
Despite these challenges, Family Promise of Southern Delaware became fully operational this year! We provided assistance to 30 families in our Homeless Prevention Program, and in the process, helped to eliminate the trauma and stress that comes with becoming homeless for nearly 80 children. Here are just some examples of our impact:

A grandmother and her two grandchildren were able to move from a hotel of 2 years to their own apartment just in time for Christmas.

Case management/mentoring helped a family to improve their financial situation by finding a job that paid a living wage, based on skills that were being previously underutilized.

A family with three children moved from a hotel program to their own apartment, after one member of the household got a great job at a local restaurant

Two families were able to escape domestic violence situations with financial assistance and case coordination with two local partners who support domestic violence survivors

Helped a mom with two children, living in their car, to find a hotel program where they could live safely while she figured out her next steps.
LOOKING AHEAD
As we look to the future, we are committed to continuing to provide assistance and support to homeless families in our community. But we can't do it alone. We need your help to ensure that we can continue to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
